Triple Nine Society Foundation (TNSF) Essay Contest: Entry Instructions, Contest Rules & Awards

Essay Theme

The theme of the TNSF Essay Contest is:
“How I Will Use My MBA to Change the World”



Who May Enter

Participation is limited to individuals age 18 or over who have achieved a GMAT score meeting the Triple Nine Society (TNS) admissions criteria (currently 746 or above). TNS members and non-members alike are encouraged to enter.



Entry Instructions

Entrants are asked to send us (in plain text with no attachments) the following:

  • an essay of 1500 words or less, primarily in English, whose subject is:
    “How I Will Use My MBA to Change the World”  
  • entrant name, residence address, email address, and phone number, and

Entries should be sent via email to essaycontest@tripleninefoundation.org on or before November 1, 2017 with "TNS Foundation Essay Contest" in the subject line.

Additionally, you should send a hard copy version of your GMAT score report indicating a score of 746 or higher (unless you are currently a TNS member or have been instructed otherwise) which should be postmarked on or before November 1, 2017 and addressed to:

Essay Scoring Criteria

Essays will be scored on the basis of:

  • originality of ideas
  • uniqueness of writer’s perspective
  • effective presentation style
  • effective word choice
  • spelling, grammar, and punctuation

All decisions by the TNS Foundation and prize sponsors relating to the scoring of essays will be final.



Publication of Submitted Essays 

TNSF and TNS will have the right to post any or all submitted essays on our website at our discretion, and we may also allow entries to be publicly viewable at our discretion.

Essays that do not win cash prizes may still be given Honorable Mention awards at our discretion.



Scholarship Awards

At least $600 will be awarded in the form of cash scholarships payable to educational institutions designated by winning entrants - $300, $200, and $100 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes, respectively. Award sizes and number of winners may be increased if additional sponsors participate.

Winners will be selected in December 2017 and the AACSB-accredited educational institutions of their choice will receive checks (crediting winners’ accounts) within 60 days of the later of:

  • being selected as winners, or 
  • designation of these institutions
